Obama - He Is Not Perfect

Obama Speaks of 2 Trillion in Medical Savings. Really ? This and Other "Announcement Flops" by Mr. O.
Here is the headline from the Washington Post:
$2 Trillion in HopeThe White House and a health-care coalition promise savings, but no one's offering specifics.

Re: The President's claim at cutting $2 trillion in medical costs is not about "cuts" at all but about slowing down projected growth. Smoke and mirrors. The projected totals are in categories yet to be named. The projected totals represent reductions in actual expenditures not yet allocated. Obama could have just as easily projected $3 or $4 trillion. Why not? These are "savings" over the course of 10 years . . . so who is going to remember anything said by Obama in this regard, just 10 weeks from now?

Two weeks ago, the Novice announced savings of $100 million in White House office supply purchases all in the face of spending $2 trillion faster than any politician in American history.Of course, there will be absolutely no follow-up on this story.

Last week, OB #1 announced $17 billion in savings shortly after it was revealed that last September's T.A.R.P. , $ 850 billion after the pork was added, has mushroomed to $3 trillion plus interest (maybe another $2 trillion) and the addition of 12 Government agencies.

Last week, Barack also announced the creation or saving of 150,000 jobs the day after we learned that another 539,000 jobs were lost.

Previously, Obama told us that bail-out money needed to be allocated to the auto industry to prevent bankruptcy with the big three. Ford has resisted borrowing any money. Chrysler is in Chapter 11, the UAW hoping to trade its 10% stock ownership for 55% ownership in the company. G.M. is just days away from its version of bankruptcy, as well.

The $787 Stimulus bill of last February included money for shovel-ready jobs. Today, several of the states have announced that these "shovel-ready" jobs are not exactly ready.

This Stimulus Bill promised mortgage relief for those who were having difficulty making their payments. That was in February. We were told this relief bill would go a long way to solving the "mortgage crisis" and now, the new figures on mortgage failures have just been released: 689,000 foreclosures for the two month period of March/April. If "relief" was the purpose for the Stimulus, chalk up another economic failure for the Novice.

A month ago, folks in Obama's Administration announced that Social Security was "solvent" until 2017. Today, May 12, we were told that the Social Security "Fund" has lost 95% of its positive value. Beginning next year, S.S. payments will come , in part, from borrowed money. 78 million retired Baby Boomers are coming into this broken system sucking $245 million a day [on average] away from other programs.

Gitmo - Obama campaigned for two years on closing Gitmo. And now, after 2 1/2 years of talk, he has no clue what to do with the remaining 180 truly bad guys left at this prison. Still think he is not the Novice?

And he sent the bust of Churchill back to England; gave a toy "reset" button to the top Russian official; bowed before the Saudi King; got nothing from the G20; failed in his effort to increase NATO's presence in Afghanistan; was rebuffed by Congress asking for more millions without a plan; told by fellow Dems that he had only one year to figure out what he is doing in Afghanistan; had to sit through a 52 minutes rant by Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega; was given a rebuff by Castro following some kindly remarks by the Cuban's brother; has not been able to fill 17 positions in the Treasury being turned down by several appointees; and has dropped 20 points in Rasmussen's Presidents Approval Index (scroll to bottom of this main-page)Hey, I had a better start than this in my first marriage !!
